Reports To: Superintendent or Foreman
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate the receiving and distribution of materials and equipment on the jobsite.
2. Erect and dismantle scaffold.
3. Deliver materials as scheduled.
4. Clean up, protect, move material, tools & equipment.
5. Conform to all safety rules and regulations of the Company and OSHA standards.
6. Ability to obtain a CDL license for delivery of materials.
7. Knowledge of operation of construction equipment (such as forklifts) on jobsites.
8. Calculate unit costs based on quantity of materials installed, hours worked, and labor dollars.
9. Arrive at work on time, at various locations.
10. Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
11. Conform to all company policies and procedures.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Ability and willingness to learn company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards.
2. Ability to distinguish various tools and materials.
3. Knowledge of basic mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
4. Ability to accurately measure material.
5. Ability to follow directions.
6. Ability and willingness to work in a team environment, with frequent one-on-one and group interaction.
7. Ability to work on ladders, scaffolds, and stilts.
8. Knowledge and ability to erect and dismantle scaffolds.
Tools & Equipment Used on Job (including but not limited to):
Brooms, floor scrapers, shovels, dollies, wheelbarrows, and flat carts.
Required Safety Equipment (Personal Protective Equipment):
Hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, sturdy leather work boots, GFCI protection, fall protection.
Total Quality Requirements:
It is the responsibility of each employee to participate in the Company's Total Quality Process (QUEST), and any other Company programs and processes that are now in effect or may be created. This participation includes, but is not limited to, originating Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) for system improvements, serving on ITEKs, serving on the
Company's Quality Leadership Team, tracking Key Result Areas, and Flowcharting Processes.
Essential Functional (Physical) Requirements:
1. Lifting and carrying up to 120 pounds (drywall material and scrap).
2. Lifting and carrying 50-60 pounds on a regular basis (lighter drywall material & scrap). Approximately 3-5 hours per day.
3. Pushing and Pulling 50 pound carts & wheelbarrows frequently. Approximately 1 hour per day.
4. Lifting and pushing 5 pound broom or floor scraper occasionally. Approximately 1 hour per day.
5. Reaching and pushing 40-60 pound scrap into truck above shoulder and at shoulder height occasionally. Approximately one hour at a time.
6. Mental alertness and muscular coordination required.
7. Walking and carrying materials. Approximately 6 hours per day.
8. Sitting in truck and driving for approximately 2-3 hours per day.
9. Driving Requirements: Must conform to D.O.T. standards in 391.41, Subpart E, of physical and mental capabilities, including vision of at least 20/40 in each eye without corrective lenses, and hearing capacity under number 11 of the subpart. These are essential job requirements of all drivers of company vehicles.
10. Climbing stairs while carrying materials weighing 40-60 pounds when the job cannot be stocked any other way. Climbing in and out of truck back and cab.
Environmental Factors (Working Conditions) Requirements:
1. Normally inside but not completely temperature controlled.
2. Hot in summer, cold in winter.
3. Jobsites contain the presence of materials, tools, equipment, and personnel of other trades.
4. Intermittent loud noises.
5. Dusty and dirty conditions.
6. Uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles.
