Job Title: Manufacturing Welding Engineer
Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location: Ankeny, IA 50023
Duration: 24 Months (Possible Extension/Conversion)
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Job Summary
Manufacturing Welding Engineer responsible for supporting weld tooling, robotic welding systems, automation, process improvement, and new product launches within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Support robotic weld systems and weld tooling
• Improve manufacturing and material flow processes
• Support new product line launches
• Participate in PFMEA, DPAR, and FGR activities
• Support quality issue resolution and process improvements
• Develop labor estimates and SAP routings
• Support lean manufacturing cell layouts
• Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams

Work Environment
• Onsite manufacturing environment
• ~50% time spent on production floor
• Cross-functional engineering collaboration
• Up to 25% travel required
Required Skills
• Weld tooling and automation knowledge
• Robotic welding systems understanding
• Problem-solving and teamwork skills
• SAP, Microsoft Office, and 3D modeling familiarity
• Strong communication skills
• Manufacturing process improvement experience
Preferred Skills
• Robotic programming experience – Preferred
• Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD – Preferred
• GD&T knowledge – Preferred
• Union manufacturing experience – Preferred
• EPDP knowledge – Preferred
• Capital equipment planning experience – Preferred
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Weld Engineering/Technology
OR
• 5+ years supporting automated welding operations
