Location: Indianapolis, IN (Mobile role supporting multiple client sites)
About the Role
As a CBRE Union Mobile Engineer, you will play a critical role in keeping a major telecommunications client's infrastructure operating at peak performance throughout the Indianapolis metro area. This is a mobile position where no two days are the same - you'll travel between client sites, troubleshoot complex systems, and be the trusted expert who keeps operations running smoothly.
This role is part of CBRE's Engineering Services team, responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing essential building and network systems for some of the most recognizable companies in the world. You'll work independently and collaboratively, using your technical expertise to solve problems, support preventive maintenance programs, and deliver exceptional service every day.

Please note: This role is represented by a Union and requires travel across assigned sites. H1B visa sponsorship is not available.
What You'll Do
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and restore routine technical service issues and equipment failures across multiple client locations.
  • Respond to and resolve significant network and system issues impacting multiple sites, major network elements, or site outages.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operation of telecommunications and building-related systems.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, system configurations, and technical reference materials.
  • Follow established maintenance schedules, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.
  • Provide user support and participate in training related to system and application updates; assist with training documentation as needed.
  • Apply in-depth technical knowledge to handle complex issues and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Coach and mentor coworkers by sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence).
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, teammates, and leadership, even in high-impact or time-sensitive situations
What You'll Need
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of relevant technical experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Previous shift lead, senior technician, or supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting 50 lbs. or more.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Willingness to challenge existing solutions and bring a fresh perspective to technical issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile environment while collaborating with a larger team.
