Position Summary

Performs technical work assisting an Anesthesia Provider with equipment, supplies, drugs, and special procedures utilized in the course of the anesthesia care of patients. The Anesthesia Technician/Technologist also completes supportive patient care tasks.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Consults Operating Room schedule to determine supply and equipment needs for procedures.
2. Prepares anesthetizing locations for scheduled procedures to include setting up and calibrating monitoring devices.
3. Performs basic troubleshooting on equipment such as monitors, pulse oximeter, and capnographs; repairs equipment or requests mechanical assistance. Reports equipment malfunctions immediately.
4. Assists Anesthesia Providers using aseptic or sterile technique with non-invasive and invasive patient procedures.
5. Cleans, disinfects and sterilizes reusable equipment and continuously maintains safety and proper working conditions.
6. Stocks and maintains specialized carts per established specifications. Maintains inventory of all anesthesia supplies and ensures proper care and storage of equipment.
7. Obtains supplies and equipment as requested by Anesthesia Providers.
8. Assists with Point of Care tests.
9. Supports routine and emergency procedures.
10. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Two years of college coursework in Biology, Physiology, Anatomy or related scientific fields preferred.
Experience: Two-years of experience assisting in patient care with a focus in the area of
Preoperative services preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: Anesthesia Technician/Technologist Certification preferred. Washington State (DOH) Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Nurse Assistant licensure preferred. American Heart Association BLS required.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $22.34 - $32.14 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
