AgeSpan Volunteer ProgramsWe have opportunities for people to get involved and give back to their communities. Each program has its own guidelines regarding the requirements that volunteers must meet to participate, such as time commitment and training. We welcome individuals from a variety of diverse backgrounds who are interested in volunteering with AgeSpan. If your organization or group is looking for volunteer opportunities, our Mobile Market Program listed below allows for monthly volunteering for groups.Family Caregiver Support Program: Use lived experience to compassionately support fellow caregivers of older adults or grandchildren through flexible and personalized involvement, whether by listening, leading groups, helping at events, or problem solving in person or remotely.Mobile Market: Assist with the assembly and distribution of brown bags filled with free groceries for low-income individuals. Money Management Service: Work with older adults to develop basic money management skills such as paying bills, budgeting, and writing checks. Nutrition Program: Meals on Wheels drivers deliver nutritionally balanced meals to homebound older adults and adults with disabilities throughout the Merrimack Valley. Long Term Care Ombudsman Program: Become a certified Ombudsman to assist residents living in assisted living, nursing and rest homes by working with program staff to advocate for the rights and needs of the residents. SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) Program: Become a certified SHINE Counselor to provide unbiased, confidential information to Medicare beneficiaries to help them understand their health insurance options. MA SMP (Senior Medicare Patrol) Program: Provide outreach and education to Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, family members, and caregivers on how to protect, detect, and report healthcare errors, fraud and abuse. Other Opportunities: Assist with administrative tasks and projects such as filing, typing, mailings, and data entry.
