These roles often require knowledge of JavaScript, web development frameworks, and tools like Node.js or Angular, with responsibilities including coding, debugging, and collaborating in development teams.

What are the typical responsibilities of a TypeScript Developer within a software development team?

TypeScript Developers are primarily responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications using TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks. Their daily tasks often include writing clean, type-safe code, participating in code reviews, debugging and optimizing applications, and collaborating closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and quality assurance teams. They also play a role in implementing new features, updating existing functionality, and ensuring projects meet best practices in code quality and testing. This collaborative environment helps integrate different parts of the application and keeps the development process efficient and well-coordinated.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Typescript position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a TypeScript Developer, you need strong programming skills in JavaScript and TypeScript, along with a solid understanding of modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, and a relevant computer science degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Git for version control, and CI/CD pipelines is important, and certifications in web development or cloud platforms can be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and teamwork are valued soft skills in this role. These qualifications help ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable code within collaborative and fast-paced software development environments.

Full-time

Job description

At BI WORLDWIDE, we are committed to creating belongingness, where D&I is a priority. We invite you to join us as we continue to expand our culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and authenticity together.
We work a hybrid model (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home); this position is located in our Minneapolis Metro headquarters.
Our Automotive Solutions Group is seeking interest for a Quality Assurance Engineer. This individual is responsible for testing and troubleshooting functionality on client websites including promotion setup, content management, data calculations, and reporting across our React, Oracle, and Go stack. The role spans manual and automated testing, hands-on debugging, and client-facing acceptance demos, so we're looking for someone who excels at problem-solving, critical thinking, analysis, documentation, and clear communication.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Test new development and change requests across the full stack
  • Build and maintain automated end-to-end tests using Playwright (TypeScript)
  • Author clear, repeatable manual test plans and execute them
  • Perform initial smoke passes on new builds by executing a manual test plan derived from the acceptance criteria, flagging blockers early so they don't reach later stages
  • Review and reason about business logic implemented in Oracle PL/SQL (packages, procedures, functions) to validate calculations and reporting
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues using Postman (API / back-end) and Chrome DevTools (front-end, network, console)
  • Assist team members with data validation and verification
  • Track quality-control issues across projects and follow up with Customer Technology Managers through resolution
  • Demo completed functionality to clients as part of UAT
  • Collaborate with the Customer Technology Manager / Application Manager on test-plan creation and execution
  • Provide improvement recommendations on ongoing operational processes

Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting and demoing to clients
  • Proactive and self-directed able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision and drive issues to closure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with query tools and relational database structures, and a working understanding of web development

Required Technical Capabilities:
  • Highly proficient in advanced SQL; able to read and reason about Oracle PL/SQL business logic
  • Experience writing automated tests with Playwright in TypeScript
  • Hands-on debugging with Postman and Chrome DevTools
  • Working knowledge of HTML (and ideally React-based front ends)
  • Proficient with Excel for data validation and reporting checks
  • Familiarity with Go-based backend services / REST API testing

Required Experience & Education:
  • Minimum 2 years within an agile framework and/or as a QA Engineer, Test Engineer, or Data Analyst
  • Experience on BIW products is a plus

Base Salary Range: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience, and skills.
