Job description

Overview
DEPARTMENT: Worship & Arts
REPORTS TO: MSR Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
STATUS: Non-Exempt
SCHEDULE: Part-Time up to 20-29 hours a week. Various shifts to cover
Monday - Friday 6 AM to 8 PM & one Saturday a month - 8 AM to 2 PM
FUNCTION: This person serves as the "first contact" to the people that come to TSA Kroc Center. They are the pivot point for the transfer of information. They represent The Salvation Army to the general public that calls on the phone or walks in the door. Their character and attitude must always promote the principles in keeping with the Mission of The Salvation Army.
Responsibilities
DUTIES:
Overview:
  • Be cheerful, helpful, and patient
  • Remain knowledgeable and up to date on Dayton Kroc programs, activities, events, and related policies and procedures
  • Appropriately represent the Salvation Army to anyone who calls or to those that come to our campus
  • Perform daily tasks as described below
  • Flexible and available to help with various campus wide events/activities
  • Take direction from Salvation Army Officers as well as direct supervisors
  • Follow directions, procedures, and policies and be able to kindly share those with patrons
Daily Tasks:
  • Greet all members and guests as they enter the W&A building, give direction as required
  • Request that all guests sign in and follow proper procedure
  • Complete all financial transactions for items sold at the MSR Desk. This includes memberships, program fees and some concession/snack items
  • Be proficient in explaining types of memberships offered, including guest passes. Ask specific questions to ensure you offer the correct plan while explaining the terms of each membership
  • Answer all incoming calls, (goal is to answer within 4 rings) and direct calls to the appropriate person/department
  • Ensure appropriate supply of all forms, brochures, and program specific flyers. Alert supervisor when more items are needed
  • Ensure all data for members' contact information is entered promptly and correctly. Scan all membership paperwork and attach to appropriate tab in the current membership system
  • Perform general research on membership related questions using the current membership system
  • Help check-in participants for all programs or classes and facilitate needed updates to members/guests' accounts
  • All other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate by the MSR Manager or Business Administrator
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A person of good character
  • Able to follow directions
  • Willing to work a variety of schedules as needed
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
  • Must have good communication skills over the phone and in person
  • Must be able to work well in a team setting
  • Must have cashiering experience and be able to properly count money
  • Must have computer skills and be able to learn/understand more complicated systems
