Job description

The Communications Team at Chase is seeking a Vice President to join the Trust & Security and Crisis Communications team. This individual will help shape and advance proactive communications strategies focused on fraud and scam prevention, secure payments, and consumer protection. 

As an External Communications, Trust & Security and Payments Vice President  within Consumer & Community Banking you will help lead integrated campaigns and thought leadership opportunities to elevate Chase's narrative around trust and security, while also serving as a flexible contributor who supports issues management and crisis communications. You will focus on high-impact areas, working closely with cross-functional partners in operations, legal, product, government relations, and marketing.

Job responsibilities

  • Support proactive storytelling and consumer awareness effortsthat translate complex trust, security, and payments messages into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with customers and the media.

  • Lead consumer awareness campaignsin partnership with marketing and our PR agency to develop relevant campaigns, media targets, and measurement approaches.

  • Pitch storiesthat reinforce Chase's leadership in fraud and scam prevention, including product innovation across security and payments and how it improves customer outcomes.

  • Help build thought leadership and executive visibility, identifying media or speaking opportunities.

  • Monitor, analyze, and synthesize media and emerging trends, turning coverage and conversation into insights, opportunities, and proactive recommendations.

  • Support issues management and crisis communications, crafting timely, clear communications for internal and external audiences, and helping coordinate response across stakeholders.

  • Partner cross-functionally to assess reputational risk and opportunity, ensuring messaging is accurate, aligned, and grounded in how our products and actions protect customers.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 7+ years of relevant external communications, public relations, or media relations experience in a complex, fast-paced, and publicly scrutinized environment.

  • Proven ability to simplify complex issues and communicate them effectively to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrated experience managing both proactive PR campaigns and reactive issues management.

  • Strong media relations skills, including pitching, relationship-building, and media monitoring.

  • Experience working cross-functionally and collaborating with team members across different areas.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write quickly and clearly under pressure.

  • Team player with a proactive attitude, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for protecting and enhancing the reputation of the firm.

  • Experience working in a large company 

  • Experience in a PR agency setting
