Job description

Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking a CCTV System Administrator to support a government contract based in El Paso, TX.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The CCTV System Administrator is responsible for the administration, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise video surveillance systems, with a primary focus on Pelco CCTV hardware and video management systems. This role ensures the continuous availability, performance, and security of camera systems supporting physical security, operational monitoring, and incident investigations. The administrator works closely with security, IT, and facilities teams to maintain reliable and compliant surveillance operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

CCTV System Administration

  • Administer, configure, and maintain CCTV solutions, including cameras, encoders, recorders, and video management software (VMS).
  • Manage camera configurations, video streams, storage, retention policies, and system user access.
  • Monitor system health, uptime, and performance; troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Perform firmware updates, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance.

Monitoring & Incident Support

  • Support live monitoring and video review for security events, investigations, and operational needs.
  • Retrieve, export, and preserve video evidence in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support incident response by providing timely access to video footage and system logs.

Network & Infrastructure Support

  • Coordinate with IT teams to ensure CCTV systems are properly integrated with network infrastructure.
  • Support IP-based video systems, including VLANs, bandwidth management, and secure network segmentation.
  • Assist with camera placement, field-of-view optimization, and system expansion projects.

Security & Access Control

  • Manage role-based access controls for CCTV systems.
  • Ensure video systems are protected against unauthorized access and misuse.
  • Support compliance with organizational security policies governing surveillance systems and data handling.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain system documentation including camera inventories, system diagrams, and configuration records.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures for CCTV operations and maintenance.
  • Support audits, inspections, and reviews related to physical security and surveillance systems.

Vendor & Project Support

  • Coordinate with Pelco vendors and integrators for troubleshooting, warranty support, and system enhancements.
  • Support new installations, system upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Participate in acceptance testing and system commissioning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience administering enterprise CCTV or video surveillance systems.
  • Hands-on experience with CCTV equipment and VMS platforms (required).
  • Experience with IP-based video surveillance systems and networked cameras.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cameras, recorders, storage, and video streams.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • CCTV system troubleshooting and administration.
  • Attention to detail and system reliability.
  • Secure handling of video data and evidence.
  • Collaboration with IT, security, and facilities teams.
  • Operational discipline and documentation accuracy.
  • Strong computer skills, including relevant software.
  • Problem-solving, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale or multi-site surveillance systems.
  • Familiarity with video storage systems and retention management.
  • Experience working with network infrastructure supporting CCTV environments.
  • Manufacturer or industry certifications related to CCTV or physical security systems.
  • Experience supporting security operations centers (SOC) or control rooms.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electronics, Security Systems, in an associated discipline preferred; two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college
