Job description

Salary:

Tri-City Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer (EE) in Davenport, IA with industrial power system project experience. This position is responsible for estimating, designing, and executing industrial projects from proposal through commissioning.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical support to our Industrial and Power Testing Solutions divisions
  • Consulting, gathering design information, meeting with customers, performing installation and start-up services, performing certain maintenance services and participating in sales and marketing calls require work at customer locations.
  • Electrical equipment specification
  • Power distribution system design and layout
  • Power system control and automation design
  • Arc Flash Analysis
  • Protective device settings and coordination
  • Project management
  • Installation supervision and commissioning
  • Consulting, gathering design information, meeting with customers, performing installation and start-up services, performing certain maintenance services and participating in sales and marketing calls require work at customer locations.


Most work will be performed at Tri-City Group Headquarters in Davenport, IA. However, travel to project assignments at customer sites will be required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design of industrial electrical power systems
  • Previous experience with SKM Power Tools for Windows or Easy Power Software for short-circuit, load flow, coordination, and arc flash hazard analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of NEC as applied to industrial electrical design
  • Experience with specification of low-voltage (<1000V) and medium-voltage (up to 35kV) switchgear and associated control systems
  • Experience selecting and programming protective devices, including trip units and protective relays
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Revit for the development of electrical schematics and installation plans
  • Preference for candidates with registration as a Professional Engineer. Additional preference for candidates with an NCEES records to facilitate licensure in additional states
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel out-of- town or overnight travel both in and, in rare cases, outside of the continental United States. Overnight travel is estimated at 10-15% (annually) and is subject to change.
