Come join THE Texas Chicken Finger restaurant...since 1994!

At Layne's Chicken Fingers we take everything seriously except ourselves.

Established in 1994, Layne's is THE "born and breaded in Texas" chicken finger restaurant. The Layne's culture stems from our roots in College Station, where back in 1994, we perfected our chicken finger frying technique. True to our roots, we are a fun, fast paced dynamic team who do not take ourselves seriously, but we take our food and our service EXTREMELY seriously.
Position Overview
The Corporate Traveling Trainer plays a critical role in driving operational excellence across our restaurants. This position supports both their home store and new restaurant openings by delivering hands-on training, reinforcing brand standards, and developing high-performing teams.
This role is based out of a home store but requires frequent travel to new and existing locations to lead in-store training and ensure consistent execution of company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development

  • Lead in-store training for new restaurant openings, ensuring team members are fully prepared for successful launches
  • Deliver structured training programs for front-of-house and back-of-house teams
  • Coach and develop team members, shift leaders, and managers on systems, processes, and brand standards
  • Provide real-time feedback and hands-on support during peak operations
Operational Excellence

  • Uphold and enforce company standards for food quality, cleanliness, safety, and customer experience
  • Evaluate restaurant performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with local management teams to implement training plans and drive consistency
  • Support execution of company initiatives, procedures, and systems
Home Store Support

  • Assist home store leadership with ongoing training and team development
  • Serve as a role model for company culture, standards, and guest service
  • Help maintain operational excellence when not traveling
Travel & New Store Openings

  • Travel to new restaurant locations (as needed) to support pre-opening and opening training
  • Assist with onboarding and ramp-up of new teams
  • Ensure smooth transitions from training phase to full operational status
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of restaurant experience, preferably in a leadership or training role
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations (front and back of house preferred)
  • Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Highly organized and able to adapt in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to lead by example with a positive, professional attitude
Requirements
  • Have a High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must have access to a major airport and the ability to travel frequently, including overnight stays, as needed
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes, shifting priorities, and unforeseen circumstances
  • This role requires frequent travel to support new restaurant openings and training initiatives. Travel duration may vary based on business needs.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Have the ability to lift and carry up to 55 lbs
  • Ability to stand/walk for prolonged periods
  • Food Safety Certifications
  • Support the General Manager by performing additional duties as assigned to ensure operational success
What We’re Looking For
  • A strong leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-energy environments
  • Passion for training and developing others
  • Commitment to excellence and maintaining brand standards
  • Adaptability and willingness to step in wherever needed
Why Join Us
  • Opportunity to play a key role in building new restaurant teams
  • Career growth within a rapidly expanding company
  • Dynamic, hands-on work environment
  • Travel opportunities and leadership development
A huge part of who we are and what we are about is our fun loving, non-corporate environment, so your primary responsibility is to uphold our culture of ensuring everyone has fun while we serve our guests our "Soon to be Famous" ™ chicken fingers.
