Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring BLS, PALS, and a NC or Compact RN license in hand.

Details
  • Works in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a teaching hospital environment
  • Cares for pediatric patients with congenital heart disease, post cardiac surgery, and other cardiovascular conditions
  • Maintains a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • Floating required
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
  • Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required, 2 years highly preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • Skills in ventilator management, ECMO, CRRT, hemodynamic monitoring, and management of congenital heart disease preferred
  • 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31 - March 31)
Additional Information
  • Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in the CVICU, including post cardiac surgery and congenital heart disease management
  • Utilize advanced skills such as ECMO, CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring as needed
  • Orientation occurs bi-weekly
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced pay rate
  • Candidates must not have been a permanent employee of the health system within the past 6 months
  • RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum at time of consideration
