Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Henderson, NC, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale credentials.

Details
  • Medical-surgical unit in a Joint Commission accredited, 205-licensed-bed acute care hospital
  • 48-bed Med/Surg unit with a 1:6 patient-to-nurse ratio and high patient turnover
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Weekends required every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating may occasionally be required to inpatient rehab or the ER for tasking, though rare and unlikely
  • EMR: Paragon
  • 13-week contract
Requirements
  • Active RN license in NC or a Compact state currently in hand
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
  • Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience
  • At least 1 prior completed travel assignment required
  • Proficiency in IV insertion, Foley catheter insertion, and NG tube insertion
  • Experience performing EKGs and managing heparin drips
  • Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
Additional Information
  • Care for a general adult medical-surgical population with a high-volume, high-turnover caseload
  • Experience with 1:6 patient ratios preferred
  • The facility holds an 'A' LeapFrog Hospital Safety Rating and is part of the Duke LifePoint Health system
  • Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
  • Candidates who are currently employed full time elsewhere are not eligible
  • Orientation dates are scheduled bi-monthly — candidates should confirm availability for the appropriate session
