Essential Job Duties
This position operates under the Business Services Unit. Business Services centrally processes financial transactions for the College's twelve academic departments, 101 County Extensions Service offices across the state, the NC Agricultural Research Services (NCARS) Office and its eighteen agricultural research stations, as well as, the NC Agricultural and Tobacco Foundations.
The primary purpose of this position is to review and approve travel authorizations and travel reimbursements with the Travel unit within Business Services. The position will monitor work and workflow, assist with resolving queries for CALS departments and administrative and support units in the college for state and federal appropriations, sponsored programs, sales and service, gifts, foundations and trust funds related to travel needs.
Other Responsibilities
  • Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (or similar software) and basic accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in compliance management for contracts and grants, knowledge of state and federal spending guidelines and gifts and foundations accounting.
  • PeopleSoft Financials including WOLF Reports.
  • Prior management experience, especially managing varied teams, is desired.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and manage time and workflow.
