Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/IMC RN with cardiac, oncology, ventilator, and transplant experience for a night shift assignment at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details
  • Work in the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and IMC Thoracic unit
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00pm-7:30am), Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays
  • Cardiac telemetry, oncology, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown patient population
  • Vent and post-transplant patient care required
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Floating required as needed
Requirements
  • Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
  • Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral/PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Skilled in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response/code team utilization
  • Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting
Additional Information
  • Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care across acute med/progressive care and thoracic IMC units
  • Manage post-transplant patients as part of daily responsibilities
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • Parking permit required if parking onsite, with alternative transportation options available
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated, nationally recognized teaching and referral center
  • Traveler must complete telemetry testing including adult and pediatric exams with strict passing criteria before starting, with limited retake attempts
