Orthopedic Traumatologist Position

Southcoast Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Orthopedic Traumatologist physician to join our esteemed Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team consisting of 25 physicians supported by 24 Advanced Practice Practitioners. The successful candidate will contribute to our tradition of practice excellence and play a pivotal role in advancing patient care in our community.

Our Surgery Division located at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA and part of the Southcoast Physicians Group comprising over 800 providers, exemplifies our commitment to excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Musculoskeletal Injuries
  • Evaluate and manage acute traumatic injuries such as fractures, dislocations, and soft tissue damage.
  • Treat complex fractures, including open, comminuted, and pelvic/acetabular fractures.
  • Surgical and Non-Surgical Care
  • Perform orthopedic trauma surgeries including fracture fixation, joint reconstruction, and limb salvage procedures.
  • Provide non-operative care such as casting, bracing, and physical therapy referrals.
  • Emergency and Trauma Response
  • Participate in trauma call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
