What You'll Do
  • Hunt for new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and in-person customer visits
  • Build lasting relationships with both new and existing customers
  • Promote AJ Transport's full range of services and capabilities
  • Prepare pricing proposals, negotiate rates, and close new accounts
  • Partner with Dispatch and Operations to make sure every customer promise gets delivered
  • Keep customers in the loop on scheduling, service needs, and operational updates
  • Solve customer concerns quickly and professionally
  • Track market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity
  • Keep sales records, pipeline, and forecasts accurate and up to date
  • Represent AJ Transport at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
  • Be a professional, ethical ambassador for our brand at every turn
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree a plus
  • B2B sales experience — transportation or logistics background preferred
  • Bonus points for experience selling dump trucks, dump trailers, pneumatic bulk trailers, tank trailers, or hazmat transportation
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, plus solid computer skills
  • A knack for negotiation, customer service, and relationship management
  • Self-starter energy with strong organization and time management
  • Comfortable working independently while staying in sync with Dispatch and Operations
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites
Bonus Experience We'd Love to See
  • Background selling to asphalt plants, power generation facilities, concrete plants, bulk LP facilities, construction/infrastructure, or industrial manufacturing
  • Familiarity with liquid asphalt, LP gas, butane, hazardous materials, or dry bulk commodity transport
