Job description

This position offers a base salary range of $86,708 - $144,513 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus based on company performance.

Travel is required between our Manassas and Mt. Jackson terminals, with opportunities to support and visit other terminal locations as needed.
OVERVIEW
Responsible for assisting in the management of all day-to-day operations and facility(s) for assigned terminal location(s) to ensure safe, efficient, and dependable service to our customer, while creating a positive culture with highly engaged employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
1. Responsible to execute daily operations at assigned terminal location(s) to ensure business goals are met including metrics related to fleet performance, maintenance, and safety, in alignment with the corporate business strategy.
2. Maximize the development for all direct reports through presenting regular performance coaching and reviews by monitoring day-to-day operations and ensuring drivers are meeting minimum performance standards that support department and business goals.
3. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as all Federal, State, and Local regulations.
4. Responsible for equipment cleanliness, readiness, and compliance with all Federal, State and Local transportation regulations
5. Prepare weekly driver schedules to meet fluctuating business needs
6. Support Terminal and Company communication flow by participating in monthly Driver Meetings and daily ongoing open communication, feedback, and follow up
7. Assist the Terminal Manager with the talent acquisition process to timely staff open positions with high quality team members
8. Ensure a positive culture for assigned terminal location(s) while ensuring the safe, efficient, and dependable delivery of product to our customers
9. Develop positive, collaborative, and effective working relationships with drivers, CLI and Sheetz employees, leasing partners, maintenance vendors, loading facilities, Sheetz stores, and local police and fire departments.
10. Assist in the preparation and management of the annual terminal budget and P&L analysis; Lead and/or assist in other projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, or related field of study required

Experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in transportation, logistics, or a related operational environment (i.e., trucking company, distribution, dispatch, warehouse, or fleet operations) required
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience required; preference in transportation industry
  • Previous experience in trucking/motor carrier operations including daily load execution, service reliability, regulatory compliance, safety culture, and/or fleet management and asset oversight preferred

Licenses/Certifications
  • HM-126F required
  • Valid Driver's License required
