Job Description:

Transportation Coordinator

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for comprehensive movement control, operational sustainment, and multimodal transportation support across air, land, and sea. This role merges tactical convoy and movement tracking responsibilities with theater-level logistics integration, enabling effective planning, distribution, and accountability of personnel, equipment, and materiel across all operational nodes.

How a Transportation Coordinator will make an impact:

  • Monitors all transportation movements and scheduled distribution activities.
  • Supports analysis, planning, and coordination of daily provisioning, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Conducts convoy briefings, staging area management, and safety briefings.
  • Inputs, validates, and closes movement data in TC-AIMS II, MTS, BCS3, and other systems.
  • Tracks convoys and retrieves reports from Movement Control Teams (MCTs).
  • Maintains historical transportation and movement records.
  • Creates circulation overlays and supports route planning.
  • Analyzes freight cost performance and assists with sourcing transportation carriers.
  • Ensures HAZMAT documentation, certification, and regulatory compliance.
  • Uses LIS systems including GCSS-Army, LOADOUT, IGC, and JCM.
  • Creates and manages Transportation Movement Requests (TMRs).
  • Supports intermodal operations including distribution, retrograde, and container management.
  • Ensures convoy security coordination and link-up with MCTs.
  • Leads cargo truck convoys ensuring mission readiness, safety, and accountability.
  • Supports blocking, bracing, packing, crating, and tie-down operations.
  • Maintains compliance with DTR 4500.9-R, ISO, and host-nation requirements.
  • Participates in movement boards and multinational coordination meetings.
  • Maintains in-transit visibility (ITV) using RFID and DoW systems.
What you'll need to succeed:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent and 6 years related experience (or military experience in lieu of education).
  • Working Knowledge of transportation, distribution, warehouse operations, and inventory management.
  • Experience in convoy operations, movement control, and transportation documentation.
  • Proficiency with LIS systems including LOADOUT, IGC, JCM, GCSS-Army, TC-AIMS II, and MTS.
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT certification and handling requirements.
  • Experience with MHE (4K, 6K, 10K, 12K, 14K forklifts and 100K container handlers).
  • Understanding of intermodal operations and sustainment logistics.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in austere or deployed environments.
  • Active U.S. SECRET clearance.
  • Valid U.S. passport (minimum 2 years validity, 4 blank pages).
  • Ability to pass CRC requirements and work a 48-hour workweek.
  • Willingness to deploy to Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, or other assigned areas.
  • Valid US and Host Nation driver's license.
Certifications:
  • HAZMAT / HAZCOM certification (required or obtainable after hire).
  • Theater-required certifications (AT, OPSEC, Cyber, etc.).
  • Forklift certification for required MHE equipment.
Working Environment

Work is conducted in outdoor, warehouse, or operational environments with potential exposure to physical, chemical, and environmental hazards. Required PPE includes head, hand, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protection. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, host-nation standards, and company policies. May involve deployment to Southwest Asia.

The likely salary range for this position is $63,312 - $85,658. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
