Job description

Outpatient Testing Coordinator
Our Outpatient Testing Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and coordinating outpatient testing procedures accurately and in a timely manner while providing outstanding customer service. This position assists patients in a timely, courteous, and compassionate fashion while maintaining a highly organized work area and paying close attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:?
  • Schedule all procedures for the Iowa Ortho Physicians, including MRI/CT and outpatient testing, etc.?
  • Obtain/assist with acquiring all certification numbers necessary for all insurance carriers and record same in the patient file computer
  • Coordinate with patient to ensure that all history and tests have been completed and are in their possession. ?Ask what needs to be accomplished before the procedure can be completed and make sure that all this information is there for the case to proceed on time
  • Call representatives for testing as needed for each case. ?Document date, time, and representative to whom we spoke
  • Handle all incoming phone calls from physicians, patients and hospitals in a timely courteous manner
  • Track all scheduled tests and ensure accuracy on any notes in patient accounts
  • Ensure that a packet of information has been sent or hand delivered to each patient regarding the type of test the patient is having and instructions to be followed; make sure that the information given to the patient is documented in the patient file
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned?

Requirements
  • Certificate from an accredited licensed LPN or RN, required.?
  • Two years of previous experience in fast paced medical environment required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Provides assistance in the best interest of Iowa Ortho and our patients.
  • Ability to speak, hear, write, and read the English language without translation.
