As a Large Capital Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading several cross-functional project teams to deliver capital investments greater than $10M USD frominitialscoping through project completion
  • Working with global business partners to define project requirements andidentifythe most cost-effective solutions with an owner's mindset
  • Leading project execution to meet the stated cost and scheduleobjectivesthrough development of project execution plans and owning the estimating, scheduling, andchangemanagement processes
  • Maintaining effective communication and alignment with the project team and stakeholders throughout our stage gate process
  • Assuring compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety standards to deliver robust, safe solutions

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start).IT and real estate experience is not a fit for this role
  • Ten (10) years of combined experience in capital project management and capital project engineering roles in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Five (5) years of experience developing designs, equipment specifications, and construction packages in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Five (5) years of previous work experience working on projects > 10M and proactively identifying potential risk, implementing mitigation strategies, and communicating about these risk across stakeholder teams
  • Five (5) years of work experience with verbal and written communication and influencing leaders at the VP, SVP, and CXO level

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical engineering degree
  • PMP Certification
  • Track recordof successful project leadership in a stage gate capital deployment model
  • Prior experience withwebline, converting, automation, chemical processing, and/or discrete part handling equipment

Work location:

  • This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the nearest 3M location.

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic/international

Relocation: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
