We are seeking a Business Transient Sales Manager to join our Sales & Marketing team. This position plays an important role in growing corporate business, strengthening market relationships, and driving revenue performance across both properties.
Position Summary
The Business Transient Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies focused on negotiated corporate accounts, business travel, and transient market segments for Cascade Hotel Kansas City and Aloft Kansas City Country Club Plaza. This role identifies new business opportunities, manages key accounts, supports revenue strategies, and builds strong relationships with corporate partners to maximize market share and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute business transient sales strategies to increase revenue and strengthen market position.
• Identify, solicit, and develop new corporate and negotiated account opportunities.
• Maintain and grow relationships with local, regional, and national business accounts.
• Conduct proactive sales outreach, including prospecting, networking, and account development.
• Manage assigned business travel accounts, renewals, and ongoing account relationships.
• Analyze account production, market trends, and competitive positioning to identify opportunities.
• Partner with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Revenue Management team to support forecasting and revenue goals.
• Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and business trends to recommend strategic adjustments.
• Participate in annual RFP processes and support corporate account negotiations.
• Maintain accurate sales activity, account information, and reporting within CRM and sales systems.
• Conduct client meetings, site visits, presentations, and business development activities.
• Represent both hotels at community events, industry functions, and networking opportunities.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Revenue teams to support overall hotel objectives.
• Support sales initiatives, promotions, and revenue-generating programs.
• Participate in sales meetings, strategy meetings, and hotel leadership discussions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
• Minimum 2 years of hotel business transient, corporate, or related sales experience.
• Proven success achieving sales goals and developing client relationships.
• Strong understanding of corporate travel, negotiated accounts, and hotel sales practices.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM/sales systems.
Preferred:
• 4+ years of hotel business transient sales experience.
• Experience supporting multiple hotels or a complex property.
• Marriott brand experience.
• Experience with CI/TY, Cvent, MARSHA, LightSpeed, or similar hospitality systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
Schedule Requirements
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel for client meetings or industry events as business needs require.
• Local travel within the Kansas City market may be required.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
• The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
