Job description

The Dalles Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking for aPart-TimeTransfer Station Attendantto join our team.

Starting wage is$34.98/HRwith an increase to$36.20/HRafter90-dayspending a positive performance review.

Schedule:Monday&Saturday

Safety Sensitive Position:Yes


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry of the transfer station.
  • Safely and efficiently operatework truck,forklift, backhoe, and/orfront-end loader.
  • Measure trucks in and out and calculating payments for customers.
  • Track measurement information in computer system.
  • Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
  • Work on your feet outside throughout your shift.
  • Performs full clerical and general office duties.
  • Assisting with office duties, filing and paperwork as needed.
  • Ensure that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promotescontinuous improvementof workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires aValid Drivers License&Clean Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of light andheavy equipment operationand maintenance.
  • Must be dependable with an ability to lead.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
  • This is a physical job working in a covered area as well as outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
