The Product Specialist - Private Debt Mobilization - IC3 is a senior origination and execution role within Santander's Corporate & Investment Banking franchise, focused on leading and distributing complex syndicated bank loans and structured financings in Structured Finance, including Infrastructure, Power, Renewables, LNG, Data Centers, and broader Energy-related sectors in the North America, as well as Fund Finance. The role combines senior client coverage, capital markets execution, and internal leadership, with accountability for originating mandates, structuring transactions, leading syndication and distribution strategy, and delivering strong risk-adjusted returns and cross-sell outcomes for Santander. The IC3 Product Specialist - Private Debt Mobilization will act as a senior deal captain and trusted client advisor, working closely with Structured Finance, Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Legal, and Portfolio Management teams, while providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

  • Lead origination of loan syndication, project finance, and structured financing mandates for infrastructure, power, renewables, data center, and energy-related clients across the Americas.
  • Serve as senior relationship manager and primary client contact for selected sponsors, corporates, developers, and institutional clients in coordination with Santander Structured Finance bankers.
  • Develop and maintain a strong network of financial sponsors, institutional investors, commercial banks, and distribution partners to support successful syndication outcomes.
  • Coordinate and lead client pitches, marketing materials, and strategy discussions to position Santander for lead roles on transactions.
  • Act as deal captain with responsibility for transaction execution from origination through underwriting, closing, and distribution.
  • Setting and achieving annual revenue budget and overall business metrics set forth for their product area.
  • Lead the structuring of complex financings, including project finance, acquisition finance, corporate facilities, holdco financings, and hybrid debt structures.
  • Lead negotiation of term sheets, loan documentation, engagement letters, offering memoranda, and material project agreements in coordination with Legal, Credit Risk, and Transaction Management teams.
  • Define and execute syndication and distribution strategy, including lender targeting, pricing, allocation, market sounding, and broader market execution.
  • Partner with Relationship Managers and Structured Finance bankers on new business development opportunities related to syndicated bank loans and private debt mobilization.
  • Coordinate closely with Structured Finance, Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Legal, and Portfolio Management teams, to deliver integrated, multi-product solutions and maximize client returns.
  • Contribute to sector and regional growth strategy by identifying market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities across Santander's infrastructure and energy transition franchise.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to deal team members, fostering a strong performance culture, efficient resource allocation, and high-quality execution standards.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Required
  • Master's Degree or other advanced degree in a related field - Preferred


Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in loan syndications, project finance, infrastructure finance, private debt mobilization, or leveraged/corporate lending within an investment or corporate banking environment - Required.
  • Strong track record of originating and executing complex syndicated loan and project finance transactions.
  • Deep understanding of credit analysis, financial modeling, loan documentation, underwriting, syndication processes, and bank distribution strategy.
  • Established relationships with sponsors, corporates, developers, commercial banks, institutional investors, and other market participants in the Americas.
  • Proven ability to lead transactions independently, engage with senior client stakeholders, and influence internal decision-makers.
  • Strong commercial mindset with focus on returns, cross-sell, franchise development, and prudent risk management.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, written and verbal communication, and senior client coverage skills.
  • Senior-level judgment with the ability to operate with limited supervision and manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to lead across products, functions, sectors, and geographies.
  • Ability to develop client pitches, marketing materials, offering memoranda, market updates, and internal approval materials.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, analytical discipline, and problem-solving ability.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Maximum:

$330,000.00 USD
