Job description

Responsible for all aspects of System Security training policies, objectives, and initiatives. Plans and directs new training techniques and suggests enhancements to existing training programs. Oversees relationships with vendors to ensure appropriate employee participation in outside training programs. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Leads and manages staff as appropriate, while promoting a variety of department and System initiatives utilizing a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
 

Experience: 7 years of staff development, training, 

or teaching experience required with 3 years of law enforcement or relevant security experience.  

Education: Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, management or related field.

Licensure/Certification: Valid driver's license upon job entry and Louisiana or Mississippi driver's license within 90 days of job entry Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred.
 

Facilitates training for new and incumbent Security team members. Evaluates competencies of training participants and supervises staff as appropriate.

Develops new curriculum and updates existing curriculum for training & in-service programs for security team. 

Monitors the effectiveness of training seminars and their effect on service, productivity, & turnover.

Oversees the development of training quality evaluation tools.

Interfaces with security leadership team throughout the system to identify training and education needs of the security team.

Ensures development and maintenance of accurate catalog of training seminars and in-service programs available.

Stays informed on current and future trends/practices and of regulatory and governing standards.

Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

Monitors the threat environment, developments in training delivery, and research regarding adult training programs to identify strategies for maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency of the security-training program.

Directs the design and implementation of security training courses to include classroom, self-studies, computer-based, and web-based training as appropriate.

Conducts department training assessments by reviewing and analyzing training programs, reviewing the security operation, and interviewing stakeholders.

Other duties as assigned
