In this job, you'll oversee the daily operations of SCE's Distribution training school, leading instructors who prepare Groundmen, Apprentices, and new Journeyman Linemen for safe and successful careers in the trade. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping both the skills and culture of the next generation of linemen by setting high standards for safety, professionalism, and instructional excellence. Partnering with Distribution leadership, this manager drives continuous improvement to build a best-in-class training environment that develops the best of the best. Responsibilities
  • Manages and analyzes budget to provide strategic recommendations to executive management for the T&D Training seat time and delivery budget.
  • Supports T&D Training by collaborating with peers to determine business objectives and ensures that the vision and goals of the organization are in alignment with the Company's goals.
  • Provides leadership to staff including counseling, training and development, salary administration, hiring selection and disciplinary action.
  • Explores and evaluates new technology and best practices to assess value for T&D Training's current continuous improvement efforts related to streamlining processes and creating consistencies across the T&D Training organizations.
  • Leads the centralized administrative and analytical effort by shaping and implementing the project management and business support strategy across various T&D Training groups.
  • Partners with EL&D, client organizations, Cost Management, peers and management to ensure alignment and high levels of productivity.
  • A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising power grid system operations or the design and delivery of related technical training.
  • Possess a valid Class C Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a journeyman lineman
  • Knowledge of the SCE Apprenticeship program
  • Experience mentoring and leading others
  • Strong ethics, commitment to safety, and adherence to our Company values

  • This position's work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
