Job description

Technologist, Inc. is seeking a Transmission Trainer/Instructor to support the Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE) located at MacDill AFB, FL.

What You Will Do:

• Independently research, develop, maintain and update materials for complete courses in advanced satellite communication systems.
• Conducts extensive fact finding and research to select, interpret and adapt complex, detailed training material from various sources such as industry, research laboratories, educational institutions, professional associations, libraries and other agencies to develop complete courses.
• Develops all course material to include new or modified study guides, visual aids, simulations (mockups and models), written tests, proficiency charts, training aids and course outlines.
• Updates total course materials as changes occur in subject matter special or assigned project. Changes may be in the curriculum, student population, training requirements, equipment, tactics or organizational structure.
• Develops and adapts new or revised training or testing materials for course use.
• Recommends or establishes appropriate scheduling of assigned course or performs coordinative duties as required.
• Independently develops and updates lesson plans for courses in advanced satellite communication systems.
• Develops and modifies, as needed, short- and long-range lesson plans that are complementary to total course content.
• Updates lesson plans as changes occur in subject matter area or when there are technological changes that alter methods of delivery.
• Assesses impact of new material and coordinates with other courses of instruction.
• Follows lesson plans, deviating to relate to students with complicated, specialized learning difficulties, accommodate sudden changes in subject-matter area, or for other unavoidable circumstances.
• Conducts classroom, laboratory and field instruction for, but not limited to: advanced satellite communications theory and operations, radio wave interference, and various satellite antenna systems and modems.
• Independently plans, coordinates and presents material in accordance with lesson plans and within the prescribed course framework.
• Actively participates in panel discussions, seminars and conferences. Based on high level of expertise of subject matter and education and training techniques and procedures.
• Forecasts and coordinates operational, logistical and administrative requirements to conduct classroom/field training exercises for students and instructors. Ensures teaching supplies, equipment, and classrooms/training areas are available and operational at the allotted time.
• Monitors and evaluates student progress in courses in advanced technical systems.
• Prepares and administers formal and informal tests or quizzes. Reviews them for accuracy and appropriateness of material coverage and student understanding of the material.
• Maintains attendance information.
• As necessary, counsel students in the areas of performance, deportment, attitude or participation.

Requirements


• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, network engineering, information technology OR eight (8) years of related experience.

• Three or more years of consecutive teaching experience (any formal instructor/teaching education).

• Seven years of progressive experience in their discipline.
• Applicable training and/or current certifications for the specified discipline, e.g. CCNP, MCSA, or current equivalents.
• Ability to obtain SECRET CLEARANCE (must be a U.S. Citizen)
