Job description

Job Summary Client is seeking an Automotive Training & Development Consultant in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. This role is responsible for analyzing, researching, developing, and delivering manufacturing process and technical launch training with on-site support at OEM vehicle assembly plants across the US, Canada, and Mexico. The consultant will serve as a training liaison between engineering and assembly teams, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and improved vehicle assembly processes. Key Responsibilities Pro vide on-site training and support at OEM vehicle assembly plants. Instruct and consult plant process and repair personnel to improve understanding of vehicle systems and subsystems. Present and demonstrate efficient diagnostic and corrective methods for assembly and electrical system deficiencies. Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve assembly and vehicle issues. Develop training materials related to vehicle assembly, electrical harness manufacture, and system schematics. Share lessons learned and training materials across multiple plants. Analyze and identify future training needs for OEM assembly plants. Support plant launch meetings and provide training reports to management and OEM teams. Interface with engineering, suppliers, and vendors to validate training materials prior to Start of Regular Production (SORP). Research and compile technical information for training courses (schematics, service info, engineering documents, math data, manufacturing repor ts). Required Skills Mi nimum 4 years of experience as an automotive instructional designer, training developer, instructor, or manufacturing trainer. Advanced knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics. Familiarity with OEM manufacturing tracking and dynamic vehicle testing systems. Ability to develop training materials using pre-launch documents. Proficiency with diagnostic tools (digital multimeter, OEM scan tools). Ability to interpret electrical schematics and supplier harness prints. Strong presentation skills for one-on-one and group training. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Flexibility to travel up to 75% depending on launch schedules. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. ASE certifications required. Automotive technical assistance center experience preferred. Required Education Associate’s degree or Certificate in Automotive Technology, Engineering, or related discipline. High school diploma with 8 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Work Environment Work performed in both classroom and plant settings. Plant work may involve exposure to automotive fumes, fluids, noise, sharp edges, and hazards requiring PPE (safety glasses, gloves, head protection). Classroom work involves standing, sitting, walking, occasional lifting, and frequent computer use. Physical requirements include lifting/moving up to 35 pounds regularly, with occasional heavier lifting using equipment. Manual dexterity and coordination required for plant work and operating office equipment. Education: Associate's Degree
