Job description

Job Purpose

The Training Instructor has the responsibility to teach students the proper procedures to assemble, install, set up, operate, troubleshoot or maintain products serviced by WPI. This will include classroom and lab instruction, hands on exercises, and field training. Instructor will be responsible for the following the approved curriculum, maintaining class records and administering exams. Technical Instructor must meet the requirements of WPI product manufacturers instructor standards and must maintain their instructor certification (s).


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 2 year(s) previous experience. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prefer applied certification(s) in engines and electrical discipline.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred or Accredited Trade School graduate preferred. 

Requirements

  • Must have a current knowledge of engines and electrical disciplines and how it relates to the overall business and its objectives. 
  • Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company. 
  • Must conform to policies and procedures set forth by the company.
  • Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance company standards. (ONLY IF JOB REQUIRES).
  • Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must have dependable transportation.
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds (ONLY IF THE JOB REQUIRES).
  • Must be able to bend and twist several times a day. Must be bondable.
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days.
  • Must be dependable and work independent.
  • Must maintain good client relations,
  • Must maintain a professional appearance. 
  • Must promote and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment. 
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Must have the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Must have the ability to effectively evaluate others. 
  • Must protect the company assets and interest. 

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain custody of training material.
  • Follow curriculum and administer field and training center training courses,
  • Maintain OEM certification in "Train the Trainer" programs. 
  • Provide classroom and lab training to employees and customers.
  • Coordinate training programs with the Training Manager.
  • Assist Service technicians as required. 
  • Handle or assist with special projects as instructed,
  • Coordinate vendor training courses when required.
  • Travel for his/her personal training development to any location as required.
  • Promote good welfare among the company and its divisions. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Working Conditions

  • Typical hours of work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
  • Weekend hours as necessary
  • Position requires indoor and outdoor work
  • Position requires frequent travel.
