The Richard Rappa District Office for Farmers Insurance is seeking multiple Agents In Training (Protege Agents) who are ready to build strong customer relationships, develop professionally, and grow within the insurance industry. We are willing to train the right person who brings a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to succeed.

What You’ll Do

As an Agent In Training | Protege Agent, you will help individuals and families identify insurance solutions that fit their needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Contacting prospective customers by phone, email, text, and other approved communication methods
  • Following up consistently with leads and prospective customers
  • Asking thoughtful questions to understand each customer’s needs
  • Preparing and presenting insurance quotes
  • Educating customers about available coverage options
  • Selling auto, home, renters, life, business, and other insurance products
  • Cross-selling additional products to new and existing customers
  • Building referral relationships within the community
  • Maintaining accurate records of customer conversations and sales activity
  • Meeting individual and agency sales, activity, and retention goals
  • Participating in sales training, coaching, role-playing, and team meetings
  • Providing professional and responsive service throughout the sales process
  • Following all agency, carrier, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

    • Previous sales, customer service, hospitality, retail, call center, or financial-services experience preferred
    • Ability to pass applicable background checks and satisfy carrier appointment requirements
    • Property and Casualty insurance license preferred
    • Life and Health insurance license preferred, or willingness to obtain in specified timeframe
    • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
    • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn agency software and quoting systems
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire for business ownership, independence, and financial growth
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, identify customer needs, and close business in a consultative sales environment
