Description

The Team Member Development Manager strengthens Murdoch's culture and team member capability by leading learning and development programs, building clear development pathways, and ensuring practical training resources are available, accurate, and easy to use. This role partners closely with Operations, Human Resources, subject matter experts, and company leaders to translate Murdoch's Mission, Values, Principles, leadership expectations, and business priorities into effective development experiences that support consistent execution, stronger leaders, and exceptional customer experiences across all locations. 


This position is located at the Home Office in Bozeman, MT. Must live within a 40-mile radius of the corporate office. 


As a Murdoch's Team Member, you will...

  • Manage, coach, and develop the learning and development team to deliver effective, consistent, and business-aligned training programs across the organization. 
  • Champion and reinforce Murdoch's Mission, Values, and Principles by embedding them into learning programs, leadership expectations, communications, and day-to-day team member development practices. 
  • Develop and maintain clear learning pathways that support team member growth from Retail Associate through Regional Manager, including onboarding, role readiness, leadership development, and career progression. 
  • Organize, maintain, and improve learning content, training materials, playbooks, job aids, and digital resources to ensure they are accurate, accessible, practical, and easy to use. 
  • Partner with Operations, Human Resources, subject matter experts, and company leaders to identify development needs and create learning solutions that improve team performance, leadership capability, and customer experience. 
  • Manage learning systems, training calendars, reporting, program communication, and administrative processes to support consistent execution across all locations. 
  • Design, facilitate, and continuously improve training programs focused on leadership, customer service, product knowledge, onboarding, culture, and operational execution. 
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and business leaders to ensure learning experiences and operational resources are accurate, relevant, engaging, and aligned with how work is performed in stores and across the organization. 
  • Plan and support live and in-person training events, including coordination of agendas, materials, budgets, travel, facilities, and conference services. 
  • Measure and report on training effectiveness, engagement, retention, leadership readiness, and other key indicators to evaluate program impact and guide continuous improvement. 
  • Leverage technology, AI tools, learning platforms, and digital resources to improve content creation, knowledge sharing, training delivery, and access to development resources. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on team member development, culture, communication, leadership practices, and change management initiatives. 

Requirements

As a Murdochian, you must...

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, Education, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Learning and Development, Organizational Development, or a related discipline. 
  • Previous retail operations leadership experience highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, facilitating, and improving training programs, leadership development experiences, onboarding resources, customer service initiatives, and organizational change efforts. 
  • Ability to partner effectively with Operations, Human Resources, subject matter experts, and leaders at all levels to identify development needs and create practical learning solutions. 
  • Strong organization, project management, and program administration skills, including the ability to manage timelines, training calendars, materials, reporting, and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to create clear, engaging, and easy-to-use training content and communications 
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, learning management systems, digital learning platforms, and related reporting tools. 
  • Proficient with or able to learn AI tools, large language models, and image/video generation tools to support content creation, knowledge sharing, and training delivery.
