A Typical Day

Supports and executes site technical related training and development activities under the direction of the Operational Capabilities Manager, leading day to day coordination, delivery, and improvement of training programs while providing regular updates, feedback, and recommendations to the manager to ensure alignment with operational and business priorities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Aligns training strategies, priorities, and resource needs with the Operational Capabilities Manager, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and key performance indicators for all training initiatives.
  • Escalates critical training, competency, or compliance issues to the Operational Capabilities Manager and proposes corrective action plans to ensure safe and reliable operations.
  • Leads, coordinates, and executes New Hire Orientation (NHO) sessions and technical training as assigned, including all setup, logistics, and delivery.
  • Partner with and build relationships with Management, OJTs, Plant Trainers, Subject Matter Experts from other departments, and/or outside vendor services to support Department Management with training plan development, plan execution, required resources, tools and programs to bring department employees to necessary levels of competency.
  • Leads the ongoing development of Plant Trainers by providing regular mentoring, coaching, and feedback, building their capability to design effective training, deliver high quality instruction, and accurately assess employee skill levels.
  • Develops classroom material and instructs employees on workmanship standards, process procedures, and operations to ensure that the employees are certified or qualified to an acceptable level of competency.
  • Responsible for annual recertification involving classroom training and competency demonstrations as well as for conducting training for state license exams, keeping records of, and for submitting state license renewals as appropriate per department.
  • Manages the site LMS for all operations employees, ensuring that all physical and electronic training records are accurately maintained in personnel files and uploaded to the LMS in a timely and complete manner.
  • Collects training data from multiple sources (e.g., assessments, observations, LMS reports, and survey feedback).  Partners with the Operational Capabilities Manager to analyze data for continuous improvement opportunities within the training program. 
  • Collaborates with operations leadership to manage the OJT program, including trainer selection, trainer development, train-the-trainer certifications, coaching, and auditing training outcomes to ensure effectiveness and consistency.
     
What You Will Need
  • High School Diploma and 5 years related experience, OR Associate's degree plus 3 years related experience, OR Bachelor's plus 1-year related experience. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to achieve results and deadlines
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a commitment to completion of projects on a timely basis
  • An upbeat, positive, outgoing and personable demeanor with the ability to interact and relate well with coworkers
  • Proficient using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
     
What Will Put You Ahead

Bachelor's degree plus 2 year related experience 
Completion of HCC internal technical training programs
Experience working with LMS systems

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The role has periods of time when the work environment is sedentary and conducted in an office environment balanced with frequent occasions that require prolonged walking or standing, lifting/ carrying/handling moderate weight objects on a regular basis.   Is required to wear PPE and have a regular presence in manufacturing and warehouse environments in both temperature controlled and uncontrolled locations.
