Radiation Oncologist Position at Durham VA Medical Center

Join Duke VA Medical Center in Durham, NC. The Duke University Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a board-certified/board eligible Radiation Oncologist to join our exceptional team focusing on the management of patients at the Durham VA Medical Center in Durham, NC.

Highly motivated individuals are sought to develop their professional careers as employees of the Duke University Department of Radiation Oncology, which provides professional services at the Durham VA Medical Center.

The ideal candidate should be clinically and academically oriented, looking to develop clinical and research programs using radiation for oncologic and non-oncologic indications.

The candidate will be expected to supervise and mentor trainees in the resident-led Durham VA Medical Center Radiation Oncology clinic.

The candidate will be expected to engage with the Duke Cancer Institute's internationally recognized multidisciplinary programs.

Experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. New graduates will also be considered. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with prior experience and skill set.

The Durham VA Medical Center Radiation Oncology Service offers cutting-edge radiation treatment and special procedures, including SBRT, IMRT/IGRT, and SRS. A new Radiation Oncology Center is planned to open in the fall of 2026 with two matched TrueBeam linear accelerators with kV/CBCT for IGRT, SBRT, SRS, surface guided therapy, as well as in department CT simulation. The DVAMC uses ARIA/Eclipse information management/treatment planning systems. The DVAMC Radiation Oncology Service actively participates in investigator-initiated, Cooperative Group, as well as VA Cooperative Study Program clinical trials with robust accrual.
