As a Commercial Processing Supervisor (or Rating Supervisor), you will beย responsible for the management and development of rating staff, including training oversight, conducting quality reviews, coaching and mentoring, and performance evaluation. You'll also ensure that team members meet or exceed departmental, service, and quality goals while supporting a culture of operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and crossteam collaboration. Additional responsibilities include ensuring procedural documentation is accurate and current, and monitoring work volume.ย

We'll count on you to:

  • Provide direct supervision of an assigned rating team with coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive training plan that ensures consistent onboarding, progression, and readiness of new Raters.
  • Provide processing context and workflow education by ensuring Trainees understand training resources, work assignment expectations, authority, system navigation and functional workflows.
  • Responsible for quality reviewing Trainee transactions prior to certification to ensure accuracy and readiness. Identifying training gaps and coordinating corrective coaching.
  • Performs rating transaction reviews as part of the Quality Review process at the direction of the Rating Manager, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Monitor work volume and workflow queues, ensuring adherence to SLAs and proactively adjusting assignments or resources as needed.
  • Own and maintain departmental procedures and documentation, ensuring they are updated based on business changes, system enhancements, and quality review findings, and communicated appropriately to staff.
  • Develop and use work management tools to increase operational efficiency and enhance processing consistency.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with underwriting, regional partners, BPO vendors, and internal teams.
  • Support modernization and system initiatives by staying current on product, system, and workflow changes.
  • Fosters a positive, collaborative, and accountable work culture by modeling professional behavior, encouraging open communication, supporting team engagement, and reinforcing departmental values in daily operations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned to support departmental goals and operational efficiency.

What you need to have:

  • 3+ years of commercial insurance rating experience in multiple lines of business.
  • Extensive commercial insurance and technical experience.
  • Proficient in insurance software systems.
  • Ability to lead change with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment and assume responsibility for decisions.
