POSITION SUMMARY
The PSI Group in McAdoo,PA,  a leading manufacturer of corrugated boxes and distributor of packaging supplies, is seeking a Production Management Trainee to join our team. We currently have full-time vacancies on our first shift. As a Production Management Trainee, you'll be at the heart of our manufacturing operations, learning the ins and outs of our manufacturing processes, production planning, process optimization, safety and quality control. This role is designed to prepare you for a leadership position in production management, giving you the skills and experience to make data-driven decision that keep our operations running smoothly and our customers satisfied. As part of your training plan: you will rotate through key production departments to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and workflow management, assist in developing and monitoring production schedules to meet delivery deadlines without compromising quality, support process improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to reduce downtime and increase throughput, analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings, participate in daily production meetings, learn to manage teams, allocate resources, and maintain safety standards on the production floor in a busy, fast-paced environment.  In this role, you will be supervising machine operations and planning the production schedule for multiple machine centers, supervising a team of machine operators and assistant machine operators.  Core schedule for this this salaried exempt position is Monday through Thursday 5:00am to 3:00pm and Friday 5:00am to 9:00am. All positions require the ability to work overtime as necessary. 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Admin, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Supervise all manufacturing activities in accordance with company policies and guidelines with regards to safety, quality and productivity. 
  • Ability to manage and develop a team of skilled machine operators and assistant machine operators.  
  • Excellent communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer focus, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing concepts such as Lean, Kaizen, or 5S/6S
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and MOSH safety standards in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several different projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with evaluating subordinate performance and provide feedback to enhance work performance.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, WMS, or order management systems for data tracking and reporting.
