Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Developer role is responsible for engineering, testing, and deploying technical solutions that drive business value. This role involves leading and collaborating on the development and enhancement of data solutions, optimizing processes, and identifying efficiencies for stakeholders. Additionally, the developer will provide continuous technical and analytical support, offering recommendations for continuous improvement.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Solution Engineering and Automation:
    • Design, develop, and support client facing solutions, APIs, and processes to enable rapid delivery of business capabilities.
    • Serve as a technical expert in system and application design.
    • Provide strategic direction, recommendations, and leadership in developing and executing business intelligence processes.
    • Proactively identify and implement efficiencies through process improvement and automation.
    • Troubleshoot data integrity, user, and system challenges, and work with users to achieve positive results.
  • Insights & Reporting:
    • Leverage expertise in multiple corporate and syndicated sources (such as 84.51, Circana, etc.) to deliver expert analysis.
    • Support strategic decision making by delivering actionable insights and data-driven recommendations.
    • Develop, automate, and distribute reports routinely using BI tools and analytics platforms.
  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify, document and prioritize business intelligence initiatives based on business needs.
    • Stay informed on industry and business opportunities impacting customer stakeholders and P.L. Marketing.
    • Professionally and effectively represent P.L. Marketing to Kroger teams and external partners.
  • Technical Knowledge, Training and Ongoing Learning:
    • Optimize and enhance BI tools, systems and reports by staying current on BI solutions and best practices.
    • Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, platforms & methodologies.
    • Mentor and guide junior team members.
    • Provide training and support to stakeholders and end users.
    • Produce technical guides for end users and team members.
  • Project & Compliance Management:
    • Organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
    • Ensure compliance with data governance, security policies and best practices.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Statistics, or Economics preferred.
  • Minimum 5-years' experience in a technical, analytical or business intelligence role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into a deliverable solution.
  • Preferred experience in Kroger corporate systems and syndicated sources such as 84.51, Market 6, Mintel and Circana.
  • Proficient in MS SQL for querying, data transformation and reporting.
  • Experience with ETL, automation processes, and API integrations (Python, Alteryx, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence and reporting tools, including Business Objects, Power Pivot, etc.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Proficient in data visualization tools. Power BI experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate deliverables to all levels, in person, virtually, and through written communication.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive and productive business relationships with users and team members
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Experience functioning in a Corporate Office hybrid environment
