Job description

About the Company

Fanatics Collectibles is a new company operating at the intersection of collectibles, culture, and technology. Backed by world-class investors, operators, and sports & entertainment partners, we are building the global leader in next-generation collectibles. As part of the broader Fanatics ecosystem, we leverage a digital sports platform that spans over 900 sports properties and engages more than 81 million fans. Together, we are reimagining every part of the collectibles experience for fans, partners, and creators.

About the Team

Fanatics TCG is a new Seattle-based trading card game studio within the Fanatics Collectibles family, founded by industry veterans with a long-term mandate: to build enduring franchises that live across tabletop, digital, community, and culture. We're looking for the most skilled and passionate talent in the games industry and beyond to help us create the best TCGs in the world.

Who We're Looking For

Fanatics is building a next-generation TCG and collectibles business, and we're seeking a Senior Director of TCG Collectibility to own a major part of how it comes together. You'll drive collectibles strategy and execution across product, player experience, and partnerships - helping build a TCG platform that's excellent both as a game and as a collectible, one players and collectors trust to grow and thrive for years to come.

This role owns how collectibility fits into our product portfolio while working with product and partner teams on how it is executed, and how we best grow the collectibility ecosystem in ways that benefit players, collectors, and the overall health of our games.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key collectibles initiatives across the TCG ecosystem - spanning physical cards, digital experiences, retail, and live events
  • Develop the collectibility framework: rarity architecture, chase mechanics, serialization, premium tiers, and how scarcity and value get designed into the product
  • Contribute to long-range planning and forecasting, and partner with finance on the P&L for your area
  • Lead and grow cross-functional teams across product, commercial, and community as the studio scales
  • Align with partners across Studios, Commercial, Creative, Retail, Product, and Marketing to keep execution cohesive

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10-15 years in trading card games, trading cards, collectibles, gaming, or adjacent entertainment, including experience leading meaningful product or commercial initiatives end to end
  • Strong fluency in collector and player psychology - rarity economics, secondary-market behavior, and what makes fandom durable
  • A builder's temperament, energized by ambiguity and getting things done in high-growth environments
  • Sharp commercial and analytical instincts, paired with genuine respect for community trust and product quality
  • A systems thinker who builds repeatable capability rather than running every launch personally
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on participation in the hobby, with the feel for value and fandom that comes from time spent inside it
  • Background in hybrid physical + digital collectible ecosystems
  • Familiarity with licensing, IP partnerships, or entertainment ecosystems
  • Experience in high-growth consumer, sports, or digital commerce environments
  • Passion for trading card games, collectibles, sports, and fan culture

Location

All employees of Fanatics TCG are expected to be onsite in our Seattle office five days per week.
