Job description

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible to ensure that manufacturing equipment and tools function properly and increase organization’s efficiencies for a multi-million-dollar global account(s) for many of the world’s most popular playing Card Games, Trading Card Games, and Board Game brands in the world!

What you’ll do as a Maintenance Mechanic:

  • Manage and initiate all scheduled and emergency maintenance and repair work to building and equipment (Rolling Plate and Digital Printers, Slitters, Die Cutters, Corner Clippers, Shear Presses, Plastic Wrapping Machines, Automated Assembly Machines, Programmable Card Feeders, Material Moving Equipment, and Facility Wiring, Air Compressors, HVAC, and Plumbing).
  • Participate and Coordinate maintenance activities Individually, and as part of a Team.
  • Consult with Production Manager, scheduling and equipment manufacturers on repair schedules and production delays.
  • Communicate with machine manufacturer and part vendors, when needed, to diagnose problems and escalate resolution.
  • Plan and schedule daily activities, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, to achieve required results and complete tasks by order of priority.
  • Make regular daily visual inspections of building, grounds, facilities, equipment, and projects in process or completed.
  • Follow up on and study recurring facilities-oriented failures in an effort to find solutions.
  • Bring all problems that do not have a visible method of immediate solution to the attention of supervisor.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials necessary for the operation of the building maintenance department.
  • Identify workplace hazards which exist or could develop and correct problems.
  • Requires full attention and vigilance while on-the-job to ensure the safety of others and equipment and to ensure the quality of work. Napping, reading for pleasure, horseplay, watching television or listening to ear covering or loud radios and other in-attention to performing your job is prohibited.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Mechanic with:

  • This is a 3rd shift role, with hours tentatively between 10 pm to 6 am, Monday through Friday.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or warehouse
  • Initiates and maintains good organization of records and information.
  • Ability to apply written instructions (in English) to machine set-up.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to read and use a ruler, calipers and micrometers in metric and inches.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to this job and the machinery operated.
  • Good knowledge of the chemicals used in this job function, their uses and hazards, and their proper disposal methods.

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Must be able stand and walk throughout shift, lift or move 35 pounds.
  • Environment is climate controlled and indoors.
  • This Maintenance Mechanic position is located on-site in our East Longmeadow, MA facility.
