Job description

About the Team

Fanatics TCG is a new Seattle-based trading card game studio within the Fanatics Collectibles family, founded by industry veterans with a long-term mandate: to build enduring franchises that live across tabletop, digital, community, and culture. We're looking for the most skilled and passionate talent in the games industry and beyond to help us create the best TCGs in the world.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking a Director, Card Production to build and lead the systems, processes, and partnerships required to bring our cards to life - from early design through final print-ready files. This role will partner closely with the Director of Print Operations to define how cards are produced and manufactured at scale. You will be responsible for building the end-to-end card production pipeline, including internal tools, asset workflows, and file preparation.

The ideal candidate combines deep production expertise with strong systems thinking, and understands how to balance precision, quality, and efficiency at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build the End-to-End Card Production Pipeline
    • Define and implement the card production workflow from concept through print-ready files.
    • Establish systems for card data, templating, versioning, and asset management.
    • Partner with engineering and product teams to determine what should be built internally vs. leveraged from existing capabilities.
    • Help define and prioritize requirements for card toolsets and databases.
  • Develop Internal Tools & Infrastructure
    • Work with technical teams to build or adapt systems for:
      • Card creation and templating
      • Rules and text integration
      • Asset tracking and version control
      • File output and print preparation
    • Ensure systems are scalable, flexible, and support long-term franchise needs.
    • Own Print-Ready File Creation
      • Establish standards and processes for prepress, color management, and file preparation.
      • Ensure all card files meet the technical specifications required for high-quality printing at scale.
      • Build workflows that minimize errors and ensure consistency across large card sets.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8-12+ years of experience in print production, physical product development, or trading card/manufacturing environments.
  • Experience building or managing production pipelines at scale.
  • Experience working with or alongside technical teams to build production tools or systems.
  • Ability to operate across creative, technical, and operational domains.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of prepress, printing processes, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience with trading cards, tabletop games, or collectible products.
  • Familiarity with card and paper production systems and workflows.
  • Experience working with global printing and manufacturing partners.

Location

All employees of Fanatics TCG are expected to be onsite in our Seattle office five days per week.
