Direct Counsel is seeking a Trademark & Copyright Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm.Location

Overview

Direct Counsel is partnering with a well-established, East Coast-based Am Law firm to identify a mid-level associate for its Trademark & Copyright Group. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and growing team advising a diverse client base, including globally recognized brands, on a full spectrum of trademark and copyright matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage domestic and international trademark portfolios, including clearance, prosecution, maintenance, and enforcement
  • Provide strategic trademark counseling and brand protection guidance
  • Handle trademark disputes, including proceedings before the TTAB
  • Conduct online investigations and advise on internet and e-commerce enforcement matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements and contractual provisions
  • Perform IP due diligence in connection with mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex and high-profile client matters
Qualifications
  • 3–4 years of dedicated intellectual property experience, with a focus on trademark and copyright matters
  • Strong experience with trademark prosecution, strategy, and enforcement
  • Familiarity with TTAB proceedings and dispute resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong advocacy abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume workload
  • Proven ability to think creatively and solve complex client issues
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong client service approach
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • Active bar admission in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $180,000 – $220,000, depending on experience and location
