Description
At Viridian Therapeutics, we are focused on developing best-in-class medicines for people living with autoimmune and rare diseases. Leveraging our team's expertise in antibody discovery and engineering, we have created a robust pipeline of differentiated investigational therapeutic candidates for well-validated targets.
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Pricing, Contracting & Trade, the Director, Trade & Distribution will lead the development and execution of our trade and distribution strategy across 3PL, distributors and pharmacies. This role is critical to ensuring optimal patient access to our therapies through effective channel management, strategic partnerships, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise and a strong understanding of rare diseases and specialty channel operations.
This role is fully remote. Travel to headquarters for meetings may be required at the discretion of management.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement the trade and distribution strategy for Viridian's commercial and pipeline products
  • Design scalable distribution models to support product launches and future growth
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to align distribution strategy with commercial, market access, and patient support goals

Channel Management
  • Establish and manage relationships with 3PL, specialty pharmacies, and specialty distributors
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with channel partners
  • Oversee implementation and performance of channel partners, ensuring service level agreements and KPIs are met

Operational Excellence
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Patient Services, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Quality, Commercial Ops) to ensure seamless execution of distribution operations
  • Manage day-to-day performance of external vendors to drive high performance levels across key KPIs
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with key trading partners and internal leadership

Data & Analytics
  • Define and manage trade data reporting requirements and performance dashboards
  • Analyze channel data to identify trends, optimize inventory, and support strategic decisions
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of transactional data (e.g., 852, 867, SP status and dispense reports)

Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with DSCSA, 340B, Medicaid, Medicare Part D, and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain SOPs and governance processes, including, but not limited to policies for returns and chargebacks

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in business, health sciences, or related field preferred
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience, with at least 5 years in trade, distribution, or channel strategy
  • Successful experience managing high performance of specialty pharmacies and distributors, 3PL, rare/orphan diseases, and buy-and-bill models
  • Strong background in contract negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional leadership
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills to achieve objectives
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities
  • Proficiency in interpreting and leveraging trade data and performance metrics
  • Strong commitment to ethical standards
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience
