Job Summary:
A Trade Compliance Consultant job is currently accepting applications. This is a contract opportunity supporting our client's Customs & Trade Compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of customs and trade data across multiple systems, including ACE, customs broker platforms, and internal business applications. You will support post-entry audits, tariff refund initiatives, trade reporting, and data quality improvement efforts while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations. To be considered for this opportunity, you should have strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI experience, and a background in trade compliance, customs, logistics, or import/export operations.
Trade Compliance Consultant Job Responsibilities:
* Maintain and monitor the accuracy and integrity of customs and trade data across ACE, broker systems, and internal business platforms.
* Serve as a data steward by identifying opportunities to improve trade data quality, consistency, and compliance.
* Validate importer information, duty amounts, tariff classifications, and customs documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
* Identify data discrepancies, investigate root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with internal teams and customs brokers.
* Support post-entry audits by reviewing a designated percentage of import entries to verify compliance.
* Prepare tariff refund calculations and reporting using Power BI and other reporting tools.
* Gather and organize documentation required for Protests and Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), including customs entry documents, USMCA documentation, and Section 232 aluminum, steel, and copper purchasing data.
* Track liquidation deadlines and support tariff refund and duty recovery initiatives.
* Collaborate with Data Management, Purchasing, Customs Brokers, and Trade Compliance teams to resolve data quality issues and improve reporting accuracy.
* Develop reports and analyses that support compliance initiatives and leadership decision-making.
* Prioritize and lead data improvement efforts that enhance trade compliance reporting and operational efficiency.
Trade Compliance Consultant Job Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
* 2+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, import/export operations, logistics, supply chain, or a related field.
* Experience working with U.S. Customs regulations, import documentation, tariffs, and customs entry processes is preferred.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and reporting.
* Experience using Power BI to analyze data and develop reporting dashboards.
* Familiarity with ACE (Automated Commercial Environment), customs broker systems, or similar trade compliance platforms is preferred.
* Knowledge of USMCA documentation requirements, Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), Protests, Section 232 tariffs, or duty drawback processes is highly desirable.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with ERP systems or enterprise business applications is a plus.
