Requirements & Traceability Lead – Arlington, VA

The Requirements and Traceability Lead manages requirements engineering activities, ensuring full traceability from mission requirements through system implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the PM and Chief Architect to manage government timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document requirements and existing processes.
  • Develop requirements management environment and traceability processes to support informed architectural decisions.
  • Establish and sustain an authoritative enterprise architecture baseline.
  • Maintain requirements traceability matrices across systems and programs.
  • Conduct technical exchanges with stakeholders to assess feasibility and identify best‑fit integration approaches aligned to approved architecture.
  • Ensure alignment between requirements and system capabilities.
  • Facilitate collaboration between technical teams and leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12 years of experience in requirements engineering or systems engineering.
  • Experience with requirements management tools.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DoD enterprise architecture, systems engineering, or digital modernization initiatives.
  • Hands‑on experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama, Jira, or Cameo.
  • Familiarity with DoDAF, MBSE, systems integration, and requirements traceability across complex multi‑system environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to work on site 5 days a week.
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting.
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time‑related constraints in a fast‑paced contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications and experienced working in a home office setting, including ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem‑solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it.
