Job Summary:

Lead Tourism industry sales efforts for the Nation's most powerful Out of Home offering as Director, Destination Marketing & Tourism Partnerships. Drive growth within the destination marketing vertical, by developing client and agency relationships that expand revenue and increase advertising investment in Clear Channel Outdoor Assets. This role requires deep knowledge of agency strategy and planning, strong relationships with key clients, and marketing expertise across Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), Convention & Visitors Bureaus (CVBs), and Tourism Boards, and Associations. This role also partners with national and regional sales teams (OOH & Airports) to target key brands, strengthen coverage, and close relationship gaps.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive tourism industry investment in Clear Channel advertising inventory including traditional Outdoor, DOOH, Airport, Experiential and Mobile offerings.
  • Generate integrated media proposals to achieve tourism/visitor business objectives.
  • Exceed revenue growth targets, on annual basis for clients within the travel/tourism vertical including Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), Convention & Visitors Bureaus (CVBs), Tourism Boards, Group Travel / MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) & more.
  • Be the expert on DMOs, understanding how they operate, make decisions, and measure success to craft impactful advertising solutions
  • Have in-depth knowledge on DMOs and agency partners, knowing how each operates, how funds are invested, and how to align Clear Channel Outdoor assets with their marketing objectives
  • Identify incremental opportunities for CCO within existing Travel Trade & Leisure Market customer groups.
  • Navigate senior level client leads within the travel/tourism industry sector to secure business meetings on initiative-taking opportunities for CCO.
  • Leverage tools, resources & research to discover and connect with qualified prospects more effectively.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by facilitating all aspects of the customer's account in cooperation with Creative, Operations, Marketing and Finance staff.
  • Utilize Salesforce and help manage sales pipeline to provide visibility to colleagues and management.
  • Other projects and opportunities assigned.
  • Represent Clear Channel Outdoor and Conferences, Trade Shows and at State/Local Tourism and Travel Summits.

Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

  • Four (4) + years of direct client marketing experience in the travel industry/tourism vertical.
  • Progressive sales experience and success using consultative, customer needs analysis methods.
  • Media sales experience preferred.

Skills

  • Proven ability to consistently generate new business among destination marketing organizations -- identifying qualified prospects, securing meetings, conducting effective CNAs, uncovering opportunities, and shepherding them through closing and on to renewal.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving growth.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
  • Public Speaking
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting tourism-related data (e.g., visitor trends, economic impact, demographics) to support funding applications and strategic planning.

Other Requirements

  • Able to travel outside of the office at least 50% of the time for meetings and industry events.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Open to candidates located outside of NYC, Allentown, Chicago

The Targeted Compensation Range for this New York position is:
Rate: $125,000 + Commission
This position may be bonus eligible, subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
