Job description

Tour Guides

Bill Speidel Enterprises Inc., operator of Seattle’s famously humorous Underground Tour, is hiring Tour Guides.

Tour Guides usher guests through the interconnecting tunnels of the Seattle Underground, providing hilarious facts and a historical overview along the way.

We offer Tour Guides flexible work schedules and the opportunity to choose shifts that work best for them.

History buffs, comedians, teachers, actors, class clowns and storytellers extraordinaire are encouraged to apply.

What we are looking for:

·      Enthusiasm for storytelling and Seattle history

·      Humorous, friendly and engaging public speaking skills

·      Ability to memorize and deliver key facts

·      Professionalism, sound judgment and punctuality

·      Ability to work independently while representing the Underground Tour

Compensation and Benefits:

·      The wage range for this position is as follows:

o   $26.67 per hour for conducting the regular Underground Tour;

o   $36.67 per hour for conducting the regular Underground Tour together with the tour introduction, and

o   $44.00 per hour for conducting the Private Underground Tour and the adults-only Underworld Tour.

Tour assignments are based on performance and availability.

Tour Guides typically receive tips from guests.

·      Employees earn paid sick leave in the amounts required by state and Seattle law.

·      We offer a 401(k) plan wherein eligible employees age 18 or older may contribute up to 100 percent of pay, up to taxable limits.

·      At this time, the position does not include any additional employer-provided benefits, such as healthcare or other paid time off.
