Professionals working on a national tour often encounter challenges such as frequent travel, irregular schedules, and adapting to new venues and audiences. Maintaining work-life balance can be difficult due to time away from home and long hours, especially during show weeks. Building resilience and flexibility will help professionals thrive in this dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The main difference between a National Tour and a Regional Tour lies in their scope and reach. A National Tour covers performances or work across the entire country, often involving extensive travel and longer commitments. In contrast, a Regional Tour is confined to a specific area or region, with shorter durations and localized travel. Both roles require similar credentials depending on the industry, but the scale and geographic coverage distinguish them.

Familiarity with tour management software, budgeting tools, booking systems, and knowledge of travel regulations are typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills help you coordinate teams, manage crises, and foster positive relationships with artists and venues. These abilities ensure seamless tour operations, maximize efficiency, and create successful events across multiple locations.

What is a National Tour?

A National Tour refers to a traveling production of a theatrical performance, concert, or show that visits multiple cities across a country. These tours typically feature casts and crews that travel together, bringing professional performances to audiences outside of major theater hubs like Broadway. National Tours are important for making high-quality entertainment accessible to a wider audience and often include stops in large and mid-sized cities. The schedule, duration, and locations can vary depending on the production.

Job description

Description:

CDL A National Tour Operator

At MRA, we donโ€™t just move trailers; we move people. We are the leaders in "bringing the brand to the doorstep," and weโ€™re looking for a high-energy, "can-do" National Tour Operator to join our elite road team.

If you have a passion for the open road and a desire to be part of something more than just a delivery route, this is your lane. Youโ€™ll be the face of MRA and our world-class clients, managing high-tech, custom-built vehicles that transform into immersive brand experiences across the country.

The Role: Why This Isn't Your Average Driving Gig

As a National Tour Operator, you are the backbone of our roadshows. Youโ€™re not just a driver; youโ€™re an Experience Engineer. Youโ€™ll oversee the transport, setup, and "wow factor" of our mobile tours. Whether itโ€™s a double-expandable trailer or a high-concept pop-up, youโ€™ll ensure every activation is "bulletproof" and every guest is engaged.

What Youโ€™ll Do

The Drive: Safely navigate and transport custom experiential vehicles/trailers nationwide.

The Build: Lead the setup and strike of complex event footprints, including expandable trailers, interactive displays, and branded environments.

The Brand: Act as a professional representative for MRA and our clients, ensuring the tour is always "show-ready" and the energy is high.

The Tech: Learn the ins and outs of our specialized equipmentโ€”from hydraulic systems to AV setupsโ€”and troubleshoot on the fly.

The Logistics: Maintain DOT compliance with an eagle eye and keep our "fleet of dreams" in top-tier condition.

Requirements:

What You Bring to the Table

Experience: 8+ years of Class A CDL experience with a pristine driving record.

The "Can-Do" Spirit: You thrive on solving puzzles and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty. You see a challenge and think, "I've got this."

Curiosity: Youโ€™re excited to learn the world of experiential marketing and the mechanics of expandable trailers.

Professionalism with Flair: You know how to balance "getting the job done" with a fun, engaging personality that reflects the MRA culture.

Helpful (But Not Required) Extras: Previous experience in experiential marketing or live events? Thatโ€™s a huge plus, but weโ€™re happy to train the right person with the right attitude.

Why MRA?

We offer competitive wages, full benefits (Health, 401k, PTO), and the chance to work with the biggest brands in the world. At MRA, we celebrate our wins together and prioritize the growth of our team members. If youโ€™re ready to trade the repetitive highway for a nationwide adventure, letโ€™s talk!
