Job description

Description:

Our Assistant Designer will report to the Design Director and support the Girls (7-16, 4-6x) design team across various categories, including sets and separates, swimwear, and outerwear. Theyโ€™ll support the designers throughout the development cycle, from concept to production, and effectively communicating with factories and team members on design details. The position also involves managing sample logistics, including ordering, organizing, and photographing samples, as well as creating presentation boards and line sheets. Additionally, the role requires oversight of the color library and facilitating the CAD/print workflow between design and CAD teams. Other duties include assisting the designers when preparing for meetings.


Responsibilities

  • Support the Designers throughout the development cycle, from concept to production
  • Assist Designers in design development across knit and woven categories, sweaters with an emphasis on sets
  • Sample management - order, track, organize, and photograph all the samples we have coming in
  • Support Designers with inspiration and trend research
  • Run out to local shops for trims, fabrics and samples, as needed
  • Create seasonal and capsule line sheets
  • Assign style numbers in PLM for our design team when requested
  • Assist with any design meeting preparation in our showroom
  • Routinely comp shop and save down for future reference
Requirements:
  • Preferring 1 year of practical experience at the Intern or Assistant level
  • Bachelor's degree in apparel design
  • Strong foundation in Adobe Suite (mainly illustrator and acrobat, a bit of photoshop)
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, TEAMS)
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of the full life cycle of a garment
  • Knowledge of PLM is a plus
  • Fabric knowledge in both knits and wovens is preferred
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive team player
