Job description


The Downhole Tool Technician is responsible for supporting the maintenance, inspection, repair, delivery, and quality control of Fortress Downhole Tools products. This role assists with tool preparation, teardown, rebuilding, inventory tracking, and customer field support activities to ensure products meet customer requirements and Fortress quality standards.
The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, experience working with hand tools, and the ability to support both shop and field operations in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the inspection, maintenance, teardown, and rebuilding of Fortress Cyclops Setting Tools.
  • Coordinate tool deliveries and pickups with customer field representatives.
  • Support QA/QC processes to ensure tools meet customer and company requirements.
  • Track and report tool activity through company software systems.
  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
  • Assist with inventory control and equipment organization.
  • Support field operations and customer service activities as needed.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Downhole tool, oilfield, manufacturing, mechanical, or maintenance experience.
  • Forklift experience or certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • CDL preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in shop and field environments.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hand tools throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed to support operations.
