This is what you will do:

The Senior Director, Thought Leader Liaison Team Lead, Hematology & Nephrology is a leadership position within the US Hematology & Nephrology (Hem/Neph) Business Unit that will focus on achieving the TLL strategic plan that includes key opinion leader (KOL) insight generation, KOL and key account development & advocacy, and promotional speaker training and development across inline and pipeline indications in Hem/Neph. The role will initially lead a national TLL team across Hem/Neph while playing an important role in shaping the future alignment of the TLL organization to support in-line and pipeline indications. The position currently reports to the Vice President, Business Unit Lead, Hematology & Nephrology and collaborates closely with the marketing leads for Hematology and Nephrology.

You will be responsible for:

Leadership

  • Hiring, developing and leading a high-performing TLL team in achieving key objectives, including:
    • KOL insight generation & advocacy development
    • Commercial speaker identification, development, and relationship management
    • Developing clinical advocacy for and support initiatives for appropriate diagnosis in key accounts for assigned disease areas
    • Key account profiling in support of market shaping activities
    • Maintaining a pulse on evolving disease and marketplace dynamics
  • Drive strong collaboration and partnership with commercial leadership teams, including Marketing, Regional Sales Directors, Strategic Accounts Leads, Diagnostics, and Market Access to effectively execute overall commercial plan.
  • Build an inclusive and high-performing culture enabling others to succeed across performance, professional growth, and development.

Strategy & Execution

  • Serve as a key member of Hematology & Nephrology Marketing supporting TLL team pull-through of brand strategy and tactical plans.
  • Partner with Marketing Leads to drive primary KOL insights generation strategy; directly lead or oversee the facilitation and execution of commercial advisory boards.
  • Partner with Marketing to identify & profile key accounts & KOLs for pipeline therapeutic areas.
  • Build TLL national business plan and support developing regional business plans, aligned to Hematology & Nephrology portfolio strategy.
  • Partner with Marketing leads to guide development and implementation of peer-to-peer education, including speaker programming strategy.
  • Provide leadership on TLL management/strategy at regional and national congresses, including senior leader briefing in advance of KOL engagements.
  • Partner compliantly with Medical and MSL leadership when planning and executing engagements with top KOLs.
  • Partner with HCP Engagement Operations in compliant collaboration supporting activities with contracted HCPs.
  • Identify commercial opportunities to partner with medical societies to enable disease and product education.
  • Assess TLL deployment to optimally balance effort allocation and alignment to meet business needs and effectively reach KOL targets.
  • Oversee TLL resource allocation, project budgets, and timelines.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
  • 10 plus years' work experience in biotech; including extended experience within the US market.
  • Experience in TLL leadership, field sales leadership, and/or product marketing leadership.
  • Strong in-depth clinical, technical and scientific knowledge in complex disease state.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve results through effective collaboration and x-functional partnership and alignment.
  • History of showing the highest standards of ethics and integrity and delivering on commitments.
  • Proven track record of delivering results that meet or exceed targets and objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
  • Location and Travel requirements: The duties of this role are based in the Boston Seaport office environment. Willingness to travel ~50% of the time to execute field team leadership, including significant overnight and weekend travel. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours

  • Graduate degree (MSc, PhD, MBA)
  • Prior experience and/or relationships within the clinical/KOL community in Hematology, Hematology/Oncology, and Cardiology and/or Nephrology area
