Pay: $21.00-$22.00 per hour (up to $26.00 per hour for qualified candidates at the lead level)

Position Requirements

Accounting Specialist Tier:
Experience: Professional accountant, education, or banking experience.
Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Industry Knowledge: Prior experience as an escrow accountant, title accountant, or in banking operations is a major plus.
Skills: Strong team-player mindset with a knack for analytical problem-solving and numbers.

Lead Accounting Specialist Tier (All the above, plus):
Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional accountant or corporate accountant experience (experience with a medium-to-large company of over 100 employees is preferred).
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership ability or experience mentoring and guiding junior accountants on the team.
Autonomy: Proven track record of handling high-level bank disbursements, complex file reconciliations, and elevated accountant-level challenges independently.

Key Responsibilities
Escrow & Banking Operations: Confirm and coordinate outgoing wires via WMA and online banking; coordinate escrow fund transfers between files.
Daily Financial Tasks: Prepare daily bank deposits, create group deposits for all branches, and process recording fee checks and billing worksheets.
Team Support: Assist escrow teams with bank-related activities, SPS operations, and processing escrow loss requests.
Reporting & Communication: Run, verify, and upload daily reports; communicate directly with bank representatives to resolve escrow transaction details.
Process Improvement: Act as a proactive project accountant by identifying and suggesting updates to the Escrow/Title operations systems to drive continuous improvement.
Collaboration: Work independently and alongside fellow team accountants to achieve monthly departmental goals.
